Wee, gamer fun! Jan. 10th, 2007 @ 11:05 pm
I started up my save file for DoC again. I haven't played it since Aug. 29th. The weird thing is all I had to do was look over the controls and I knew what I was doing within a few minutes of restarting it. I got through three chapters on Friday so now I'm at the second part of chapter 8. I went right up to the part before I have to fight Rosso the Crimson and stopped. I realized something: Oh man, I'm really underlevelled in the weapons department. And I don't have too much gil to use for upgrades cuz I need to make Vincent stronger. Gah, this game is hard...but fun. ^^ Vinnie's guns are pretty. lol

» Name Game: Solved
Hello again. I finally came up with a name for my laptop this morning. I think I'll call him Dax. (Yeah, I know, I completely disregarded all the other names I picked out. XD) But, yay, he's named now. ^^
» Name Game
Hey, I was up so I decided to post. I'm on my new laptop from school right now. Now, the reason why I'm up is because I'm trying to decide what to name my lappy. ^^ So far, I've picked out the names Zoey, Seth, Lilith, or Osiris. I just can't decide on which one. Any suggestions anyone? It's a sleek, new Dell Latitude. I'm not sure if it's male or female hence the reason why I've picked out both gender's names. But I think I get a more masculan feeling from it than a feminine one. (Hm...maybe I'll name it Zoey anyway... I like the name, but we'll see.)
» DC: FFVII OMFGBBQ!!!1
Only just got the chance now to talk about this game. I got it on the 18th and loved it from the moment I started. The graphics are gorgeous. The controls are pretty easy to get used to. And the music is fabulous. (Although I already heard it all because I got the soundtrack a few months back. ^^) I'll let you know more as I work through the game.

Getting back in touch with my inner gamer is quite nice. ^^

I got a few new games last weekend. One of them I started playing a few days ago, called JakX -Combat Racing-. It's got racing, explosions, and amusing moments. XD (C'mon, who doesn't love Daxtor's crazy comments and antics?) I haven't actually gotten into the story yet, just been playing the exibition games. They're so much fun, like the usual racing (with weapons, of course ^_~), deathmatches, and capture the flag.

And, yes, I am quite aware that I am also in the middle of FFVII. Haha, this is gamer ADD in action. XD I'll probably get back to it tomorrow. It's just easier to play JakX before work than FFVII because I don't have to worry about trying to find a save spot or getting into random battles while trying to find a save spot. ^^;
» Changin' the "Look"
Ok, I've fiddled around a bit and changed some things with my LJ. I think I'm pretty much done for the night. *yawn* G'night!

(PS: What do you think of my new user pic? Isn't Mr. Coconut cute? ^^ I drew him myself.)

Dear Journal,

Today I played with three adorable kittens. Life is good.

Love,

Me

P.S.: Eventually I will get around to posting about senior weekend with pictures.
» KHII: Defeated
I must put a warning here before I begin: There will be some minor KHII spoilers discussed in this entry. The major ones are under the cut.

I just beat KHII a few hours ago. Well, actually, it was just before dinner, but who's keeping track? ^^ Anyway, I'd just like to say: OH MY FRICKIN' GOD I LOVE THIS GAME!!! It makes me feel all kinds of squee. Riku gets to join my party and fights along side me. He is by far the best party member. And for a little while I get to control him during the last battle. His look has changed, too. He's only supposed to be a year older, but damn if he doesn't look almost 20. His clothes have changed, too, but they look cooler. No complaints, he's still one of my favorites. ^^

Mentioning favorites, I also like Axel, an Organization XIII member. He's neither completely bad nor completely good. Really, he's on his own side. All he wants to do is see Roxas again. The only problem is Roxas is Sora's nobody and seeing him again requires turning Sora into a heartless - a bit of a minor setback if you ask me. But he never trully hurts Sora and ends up helping with Sora's quest.

Having now beaten it, the whole plot line of Kingdom Hearts makes much more sense, and most of the loose ends have been tied up.

Spoiler Alert!! )
» KHII Limited Edtion Game Guide
I got the Limited Editon game guide today. Score! My guide has Sora's Final form on the cover. ^^ He looks really cool.

So, I flipped through it just intending to oogle, not to spoil, and I came upon Riku's profile. (XD It was by chance, I swear!) Guess what? Riku's not going to fight against Sora as previously thought. He's going to cooperate with Sora and fight in his party sometimes, even. ::does happy dance:: And, oh man, he bished out. Wow. Just...wow. He's no longer the cute little boy I know. Sora still looks like, well, Sora...with some minor changes. ^^; Anyway, the cool thing is the guide says that I'll not only be able to have Riku in my party, but also sometimes play as him, as well. Sweet! And, Axel fights along side me sometimes, too. I am so happy with this game. ::contented sigh::

Oh, and Tae Kwon Do was fun. It even made my rather odd cold beat a hasty retreat for a good while. ^^
» KHII!! I HAVE IT!! YESSS!
I got KHII yesterday. The only reason why I'm able to post about it right now is because I had to stop so I wouldn't be late to Tae Kwon Do tonight. ^^;; <--gamer nerd

Anyway, so squeeage about the game. It is guh. Actually, words can't do it justice. I'm still in Roxas' story right now, but the plot is so captivating. ::flails:: Man, I love it! ^^

Some minor spoilers ahead... )

That's it for the KHII coverage for now. I'll be back with more updates as I continue. (Fwee! KHII!!)
» Les Misérables
Today I went to see "Les Mis" in Philadelphia. It was amazing. This has to have been one of the best plays I've seen in a long time (or since "The Phantom of the Opera"). The performances were wonderful and moving or hilarious. Jean Valjean and Eponine had especially amazing voices. My favorite songs so far have got to be "Master of the House" and "On My Own." "Master of the House" was really funny. "On My Own" was quite touching. Hearing it was probably when I decided Eponine was one of my favorite characters. The song is very moving, and combined with her talented singing voice, it was a great performance. Ah, I really want to see it again.

KHII Countdown: 30 days
» Kagen no Tsuki
This morning I watched "Kagen no Tsuki: Laster Quarter", which the mailman hand delivered to me on Friday. I was quite surprised, and amused. ^^ He knows my name now from all the stuff I've been ordering recently. ^^;

Anyway, so about the movie. It's about a 19-year-old girl named Mizuki who gets her soul trapped inside an abandoned mansion after an accident. She has no recollection of who she once was. Now it's up to two middle schoolers, Hotaru and Masaki, and Mizuki's boyfriend, Tomoki, to solve this mystery and save Mizuki. It stars Chiaki Kuriyama (played Gogo Yubari in "Kill Bill" and Chigusa in "Battle Royal"), Hiroki Narimiya, and HYDE (from the jrocker band L'Arc-en-Ciel). It's a must-see for those who love the twists and turns a good mystery can bring.

KHII Countdown: 34 days
» The weekend was...
Hm...where to begin? I guess at the end since it's Monday night and all. Today I got around to watching Amélie for the first time. It turned out to be funky, crazy and downright cute...in an odd sort of way. Now I'm hooked. I think I like it as much as Chunking Express. Both are so quirky you just have to love them. ^^ And, I have the main theme of Amélie stuck in my head now. ::happily hums the tune anyway:: Listen to it! You know you wanna. ^_~

I spent most of Sunday afternoon reading "Season of Passage" by Christopher Pike. It is a really good book (if you don't mind science-fiction mixed with good ol' horror), I recommend it. It's quite possibly one of my favorite books now. I just couldn't put it down. It's so creepy and grips your mind with chilling suspense right up to the end.

Saturday, I worked on the Biochem powerpoint after I got a computer to cooperate with me. Rawr, sometimes I wish I could take a bat to Windows... But atleast the powerpoint came out nicely. I had fun animating it, too.

Friday, I went to see "When a Sranger Calls" with some friends, and left the theater laughing. Really, it failed that badly as a horror film. But it amused me nonetheless. ^^ Heh. ::adds it to the "Cheesy Horror Film" list::

"What do you want from me?"
"...Your blood...all over me..."

Yeah... It's that cheesy... XD

On a random note, here is an icon I've been meaning to post up for awhile.

KHII Countdown: 39 days
» DC: FFVII OST
The Dirge of Cerberus OST came today. I'm happy. ^^

Ugh...It's been a long week, even if there were only 4 days. At least tomorrow is Friday, and then we have another 3-day-weekend. Yay!

KHII Countdown: 43 days
» This weekend...
Friday, I pre-ordered KHII at EBX. It's street date is March 31st! Now the countdown can officially begin.

My Physics midterm wasn't too bad, but I know I messed up on a few of the questions. >_>; Lit was rather easy--even the essay questions weren't too harsh.

Saturday, I pretty much vegged out watching Kikujiro and playing Digital Devil Saga. Kikujiro turned out to be a rather cute movie directed by and staring Takeshi Kitano with music talents from Joe Hisaishi (he wrote music for hit movies like Hayao Miyazaki's "Spirited Away"). Click here for a brief non-spoiling synopsis of Kikujiro. )

On Sunday, nothing much really happened. I'm just prepping for my French midterm. I heard that it'll be easy so I hope that holds true. ^^ But it shouldn't be too hard anyway.

This is a bit random, but here I go: All this weekend I had the urge to play basketball, but there's no one to play with and it was raining on Saturday (my free day). And, I wish the nets were still up in the tennis courts by my house. Wah, I really want to do something active.

KHII Countdown: 54 days
» Much rambling ensues...
This morning, I decided to listen to disk 2 of the KHII OST for the first time. Well, I think they should put a warning on that disk that reads something like this: Caution! May cause crack overdose! XD Yeah... When they said that Atlantica would be a musical, they weren't kidding. There are 5 songs on there, including the Japanese version of "Part of Your World" and "Under the Sea." (Goofy and Donald's voices never cease to crack me up. Ariel's voice, though, doesn't really suit her; it makes her sound much older. I'm happy to say that Sora's voice is cute and fits him rather well.) But, the first song was what made my eyes nearly pop out of my skull; it was so hyper, happy, and, jeez, could they sing fast. (Then, for some reason, these songs reminded me of the first HunterXHunter musical. Don't ask... ^^;)

I also got around to playing Digital Devil Saga today for about 2 hours. (Sadly, that's all I could spare. >_>;) It's an intriging game, I must say. (There are so many English voices I recognize in there, it's just sad. ^^) The gameplay reminds me a lot of Final Fantasy. But, it's supposed to be harder--well, more like you need to be able to make well thought out strategies than just random attacks. I had to do that anyway, in FF, so I'll just have to see.

As for midterms, AP Chem tomorrow. ::dies:: Yeah, I've been going over the review questions so hopefully that will help. >_<

Sigh... The week so far is blargh... I really hope it gets better.
